01Who we are

Check and Charge B.V. rents out powerbanks at events and venues. We are responsible for the personal data described here. For questions or requests, write to support@checkandcharge.com or to Check and Charge B.V., Hoofdweg 418/3, 1056DG Amsterdam.

02What we collect and why

  • Renting a powerbank. The station, when you took and returned the powerbank, the amount and whether the payment went through. On a card terminal the payment provider handles your card, and we never receive your card number. When you pay online, Stripe handles the payment and shares your email address and the type and last digits of your card with us. We need this to carry out the rental, and Dutch law requires us to keep payment records.
  • A free powerbank. The email address you enter to claim it, so we can give you the powerbank and reach you if it is not returned.
  • Contacting support by email or WhatsApp. Your name, email address or phone number, your messages and the files you send, such as a screenshot of a payment. If you ask for money back by bank transfer, also your IBAN and the name on the account. We need this to answer you, find your rental and handle a refund.
  • Organisers and partners. The contact details of the people we work with, to carry out our agreements.
  • This website. We use no analytics or advertising cookies, only what the site needs to work, such as your language choice.

03How we answer support messages

An AI assistant, Claude by Anthropic, reads support messages and the files sent with them. It looks up the rental, suggests a reply and translates messages for our team. Our staff check its suggestions, and people decide on every refund. A reply the assistant sends on its own says so. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and does not use it to train its models.

04Who else receives your data

These service providers process data on our behalf:

  • Stripe, Payter and Ingenico, for payments;
  • Amazon Web Services, which hosts our systems in Frankfurt, Germany;
  • Mijndomein, for our email;
  • Meta, when you contact us on WhatsApp;
  • Anthropic, for the AI assistant.

Some of them are based in the United States. When data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. We never sell your data.

05How long we keep it

  • Rentals and payments: 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires.
  • Support conversations: as long as we need them to handle your question and any follow-up. Files you send are deleted after 180 days.
  • Free claims: as long as we need them for the event and its settlement.

06Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to limit or object to its use, and to receive it in a format you can take elsewhere. Send your request to support@checkandcharge.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
